17th century cottage situated in a quiet hamlet 3 miles from Pooley Bridge and Ullswater. A brisk 5 minute walk across a field brings you to the excellent olde worlde pub and restaurant, The Queens Head, named Pub of the Year 2003 The cottage is a listed building with 3 bedrooms, sleeping 5 adults plus a cot if required. Downstairs via a twisting stone staircase is the sitting room with beams and a log burning stove. There is a separate dinning room. |

The kitchen is accessed from the sitting room via a stable door. This is fully equipped with automatic washing machine, electric oven, microwave and oil fired central heating boiler and clock (all rooms except the kitchen have radiators). The modern bathroom is off the kitchen. |

All rooms downstairs have flag stone floors and beamed ceilings. Outside there is a store building plus modern toilet, side and rear gardens and off road parking for one very large car or two family sized cars. Walkers and ramblers please note that Pooley Bridge, Ullswater, Penrith and the immediate fells can be reached from the cottage by using the footpaths and the right of ways as shown on the local OS maps. |

For the less energetic there are boat trips with Ullswater steamers (the pier is 300 yards from Pooley Bridge), Dalemain country house and the Rheged Centre which is just outside Penrith. A short walk away from the cottage is a pony trekking centre. For a full range of things to do and see, visit the Tourist information centre in Pooley Bridge.
